Astro Boy flying above the clouds.

This is based on Astro Boy from the 2009 movie. I also wrote Astro Boy at the bottom, and his name in Japanese, which is "atomu".

Materials Used : lead pencils, watercolour paints, black pens and black markers on Fabriano watercolour paper.

Down in japanese Katakana says Atomu for Tetsuwan Atomu, the original name for the japanese anime Astro Boy created by Osamu Tezuka

Yes, that's right. I think in the 2009 movie they just called him Atomu though.

to do. I remember watchin the Astroboy 2000 something
OVA series and the 80's cartoon where we knok
megaman got its inspiration from ;)
I watched the original series as a kid meself.
I had a debate over this guy being the originator or anime but turned out he wasnt cuz
some guy had animated a kanji once... screw em
Tezuka Osamu made anime so there :p lalala cant hear em lalala.

"Astro Boy" in the 1960s was Japan's first animated TV series. That was the black and white version. I've seen a bit of it and its not that good quality animation, the 1980s one is better. But it was the first anime TV series.

Osamu Tezuka is quite famous in Japan. There is a manga museum about his work in Takarazuka. I want to go there some day.

Yup to me anime is tv series so nay sayers can go poop :p
Osamu actualy animated the original himself much like
Jack Kirby animated the first MARVEL super heroes cartoons
in the 60's like th ehulk iron man avengers thor etc
*still image with little movement and allot of lypsynch and
recicled stock footage lol I can relate since I am an annimator
who does solo work meself :P
